RESEARCH

OUR Rhamnolipids

Rhamnolipids

are biosurfactants generated from non-pathogenic microorganisms through fermentation,
• are just as effective as chemical or petroleum-based surfactants,
• are 100 percent biodegradable
• there is a potential that they will eventually substitute chemical surfactants as key ingredients of various kinds of products.
• have properties that can contribute to applications in many fields

In the field of research, Biotensidon carries out studies with an aim
• to improve and optimize the applications of rhamnolipids,
• to use their advantages to develop further products, and
• to explore new application areas.

Rhamnolipids

Effective surfactants, which reduce surface tension to 29 mN/m, emulsify hydrocarbons, have high
foaming activity. CMC is 20-60 mg/l

Alginate

Natural polymer with molecular weight 400-600 kDa. Alginate plays key role in the formation of
supramolecular complex via adsorption of molecules of the active compounds (rhamnolipids,
pyoverdine) on its surface due to hydrogen and Van der Waals bonds

Pyoverdine

Polypeptide with chromophore fragment which has properties of fluorescent pigment, siderophore,
antioxidant and plant elicitor
